Terry Tyson’s 73 edged out Brian Gerken, Scott
Conrad and Rene Morales who all posted 75’s
to win the Scratch Division at Eagle Rock on
June 7th. Douglas Gust shot 77, net 65, to take
Net Division honors by a single shot over Scott
Conrad 75/66.
80 area golfers were seeded into four flights for
match play in the S.P. Jermain held at Ottawa
Park. Heavy rains made play for the final 36
holes difficult, but with just 14 holes playable
at Ottawa Park on Sunday, June 28, only the
Championship Bracket was forced to a Thursday
finish.
JimO’Neal filed this report on the winners. Chris
Borkowski won A-Flight, B-Flight was won by
Scott Huffman and the C-Flight champion was
Joe Fulop.
Two former BGSU golf team members and
match-play champions, Brian Gerken and
Mitchell Kontak battled for the Championship
Bracket title on July 2. Gerken was the eventual
winner 4-3.
O’Neal wants to thank the Ottawa Park Golf
Course staff for their efforts to keep the course
playable during the torrential rains that hitToledo
the last weekend in June. More information is
