In 1950, brothers, Don and
Bob O’Brien formed Century
Power Mower Center, selling
lawn mowing equipment to
Toledo homeowners. Their retail
business grew and in 1954 they
entered the wholesale market,
selling to golf courses and lawn
professionals around Toledo.
The company’s reputation and
service convinced Toro to name
it the exclusive distributor of Toro
products in Northwest Ohio and
Southeast Michigan in 1957.
Over time they added stores in
Dayton,Cincinnati,Columbusand
Cleveland, as well as, continuing
to add new products to meet the
growing demand for golf carts,
as well as, all-terrain vehicles. In
1984, Century changed its name
to Century Equipment.
