The U.S. Junior Amateur has seen the
best young players, under the age of 18,
achieve national prominence. Only two
golfers have ever won it multiple times.
Tiger Woods (1991-1993) won this event
three times and Jordan Spieth won it
twice (2009 & 2011).
A strange fact surrounding the U.S.
Junior Amateur, it is the only USGA
Championship that was never won by Jack
Nicklaus. His best finish in five attempts
was a loss in the semi-final match.
Other talented juniors that won this
tournament and went on to achieve
golfing stardom include, Johnny Miller,
David Duval and Hunter Mahan.
