event, Hyundai automobile company

will promote its high-end product in

the Genesis Open at iconic Riviera

Country Club in Los Angeles. This

will mark the return of Tiger Woods

to the PGA Tour and should be a

memorable event.

A couple of

schedule changes

occur, when the

tour moves to

Florida, February

23rd, for the

Honda Classic.

Instead of staying in Miami for the

WGC Cadillac at Trump Doral the

tour takes a side trip to Mexico City

for the WGC-Mexico Championship,

the first week of March. They return

to complete the Florida Swing for the

Valspar Championship and Arnold

Palmer Invitational. It will be the first

time Arnie will

not be on hand

to greet the fans

and players and

should be an

emotional event.

The WGC-Dell Match Play will

once again be held at the Austin

Country Club followed by the Shell

Houston Open.

Golf gets serious after Texas with

the first major championship of the

year at Augusta National for the

Masters.

The balance of the season will happen

pretty much as always. The Players

Championship will be contested May

11-14, the U.S. Open, in June at Erin

Hills and The Open Championship

visits Royal Birkdale, July 20-23. The

WGC-Bridgestone is always held at

historic Firestone the week prior to the

PGA Championship, which will be

contested at Quail Hollow in Charlotte,

North Carolina, August 10-13.

TheWyndham Championship, August

17-20, will bring the regular season

to a close and

players vying for

a spot in the 125-

man FedEx Cup

Playoffs will be

under the gun.

Two playoff events, The Barclays and

the Deutsche Bank have changed

sponsors.Thefirst of the four FedExCup

Playoff tournaments, The Northern

Trust is scheduled for August 24-27 at

Glen Oaks Country Club in Westbury,

New York. Dell Technologies host

the second stop in Boston, The BMW

Championship will be back in the

Chicago area this year and as always,

the Tour Championship signals the

end to the season and will determine

the winner of the FedEx Cup’s $10

million bonus.
