Dan Bunge Has Been Serving
Toledo-Area Golfers Since 1989
Dan Bunge has been a fixture in the Toledo
golf scene for nearly 30 years. Components Plus has been at its current location, besideThe Legacy Golf Club, since 2002, but Dan has
been involved with golf since 1989.
He and partner, Joe Garverick, opened
Wedgewood Driving Range on Sterns Road in
1989. They eventually expanded that facility to
a nine-hole golf course, began regripping clubs
and offering equipment repair services.
The duo continued to grow their fledgling golf
business and in the mid-1990’s came up with
the idea to build a public golf course that would
rival the best clubs in the area, but maintain
it for public play. They purchased over 200
acres of land along US 223 in Ottawa Lake,
Michigan and contracted well-known, Toledo
golf course designer, Arthur Hills to build their
dream course.
Hills had designed golf courses around the
world, but did some of his best work on this
project and the course became known as The Legacy by Arthur Hills . The course was openedfor play in 1997 and area golfers have had the
pleasure of enjoying one of the best courses
