Forest Dunes sits in the middle of the lower peninsula
of Michigan and although it is accessible from
I-75, it requires a drive through the small village of
Roscommon and a winding trip down small country
roads to find the course.
Buckeye Tom Weiskopf built the original course at
Forest Dunes with something to offer everyone. Nine
holes wind through a natural forest, while the second
nine meanders over and around sand dunes that
remind one of a links-style golf course.
Weiskopf even added a 19th hole par -3, to settle the
odd wager, if 18 holes prove insufficient.
The new Au Sable lodge can accommodate stay &
play packages and Sangomores Restaurant will satisfy
even the most discerning palate.
Forest Dunes is currently adding a new course
designed by Michigan native, Tom Doak. It will be
the first course in North America that will feature a
reversible playing configuration, giving Forest Dunes
two courses for the price of one.
It will be a must-play for every Golfaholic.
Both, Kingsley Club and Forest Dunes will challenge
your vehicle’s GPS to locate, but they are both well
worth the trouble. Weiskopf, Devries and Doak are
tough to beat.
