UT Head Coach Jam
Rockets Trending UP
JAMIE BROCE CAME TO THE UNIVERSITY
of Toledo in 2012, after four years as an
assistant at the University of Indiana. Prior
to that he was a stand-out golfer at Ball State
and won the prestigious Ben Hogan award
given to the top NCAA Golfer in 1998. He
spent some time playing professionally
before deciding on a career in coaching.
UT finished runner-up at the Mid-American
Conference Men’s Golf Championship held
at Mayfield Sand Ridge Club, last May. That
team was laden with four seniors and Coach
Broce was faced with replacing his top
players for the 2015-16 season.
Otto Black and Thomas Shindler are the
only returning seniors on this season’s team
rounded out with two sophomores, Stephan
Watts and Colin Joseph, along with four
incoming freshman.
Spencer Shoemaker from Findlay and Mike
Lee from Crown Point, Indiana were joined
by Jamie Knipe and Cameron Mills from
Northern Ireland to make a strong incoming
freshman class.
