that league then schedule
matches versus one another.
Each match consists of
two-man teams competing
against a similar grouping
from the opposing team in a
scramble format. The match
lasts for nine holes, broken
up into three-hole segments
called “flags,” with each flag
worth one point. A three-hole
segment or flag tied by both
teams is worth a half point.
The team with the most points
at the end of the game wins.
Since there are four matches
in each game, and eachmatch
is played for a maximum of
three points, a total of 12
points are available.
The PGA of America recently
hosted the top two teams in
the nation to the PGA Junior
Golf League Championship
held at the Grayhawk Golf
Club in Scottsdale, Azizona.
An all-star team from Las
PositasGolf Club in Livermore,
California took the early lead
over Team Georgia and the
decisive point was earned by
12-year-old Alice Liu.
This was the second PGA
Junior Golf League National
Championship for Team
California, they also won in
2012.
