WOMEN’S GOLFTEAM
HAS RECORDYEAR
The University of Toledo Women’s Golf Team led by coach Nicole Hollingsworth continued its
climb to improve and reached new heights this season.
The Rockets set school records by
winning five tournament titles and
achieved a new low by recording
a 298.3 stroke average per event.
They finished second to perennial
Mid-American Conference Cham-
pion Kent State, by just four strokes
this year, in the conference cham-
pionship for the third time over the
last four years. They have also fin-
ished inside the top-3 in the confer-
ence six of the last seven years.
Finishing her collegiate career,
senior
Sathika Ruenreongwas
named the Most Valuable Player for
the fourth consecutive season. Her
73.83 stroke average, set new a new
school record, plus she played the
most rounds, had the most rounds
under 80 and won two titles.
Ruenreong was also named first-
team All-MAC for a fourth year. She
set records for an entire collegiate
career with the lowest stroke average
of 74.94, most rounds under 80
with 122 and she won a total of
four tournaments. She also became
the first Rocket ever to appear in the
NCAA Championship Regionals,
tying for 36th place out of 96 golfers
at the Shoal Creek Regional this year.
At their season-ending awards
banquet, Coach Hollingsworth said,
“We are sad to say goodbye to our three
seniors, Sathika Ruenreong, Manisa
Isavas and Morgan Salm. They helped
take our program to another level, and
I want to thank each of them for their
hardwork andwish them the very best.”
