courtesy of Lil Tikes, for that
practice green look.
During the cold winter
months, I read golf stories,
blog articles, tweets, and
posts. Reading about an
albatross makes me hopeful
and puts a smile on my face.
I suggest you take this time
to learn more about the rules
of golf, and how using them
can benefit your game and
improve your score. I’ve
learned some new etiquette
items for the practice area in
the process. (Do you know
the way to hit a bucket of
golf balls with only taking
one long divot?) If you don’t
enjoy the USGA’s rule book,
try my humorous books on
these topics.
I’ve also taken this time to
put a shine on my clubs and
clean out my golf bag. It’s
amazing what you’ll find. I
wondered where I put that
half eaten granola bar.
And make some plans for
summer leagues, your local
golf show, a weekend get
away with the guys, or just to
try that new course in town.
If you are so inclined, see
about volunteering for The
First Tee, Return to Golf,
or any other golf related
charitable organization that
helps others.
Above all else, remember
the snow won’t last forever
and the fairways will soon be
mowed and, hopefully, your
drive will land there and not
in the woods.
