home product companies and great food and
beverage service, realize the importance of the
golfing public to their businesses and helped
bring people through the door that might not
normally attend.
As is evidenced by the Marathon Classic, with
its huge economic boost to the local economy,
plus the hundreds of thousands of dollars
generated for Toledo-area children’s charities,
by the LPGA Tour event, Toledo needs more
GOLF
participation.
Over 30 area golf courses and clubs create
jobs and add to tax base to support government
programs and initiatives.
From our discussions with local people at The
First Tee of Lake Erie exhibit, it is apparent that
many attendees were looking for opportunities
for their children. Parents are looking for
healthy outdoor activities for their children and
want to expose them to the golf opportunities
in the area.
Current vendors and golf course owners need
greens fees and merchandise sales to keep the
doors open, but realize the need to reach out
to younger generations to assure their business
remains viable in the future.
The Toledo Golf Show helps to introduce new
golfers to the game and reconnect current
golfers with the vibrant Northwest Ohio and
Southeast Michigan golf community.
We should all be pushing for more creative and
attractive ways to bring a diverse audience in
the doors. A rising tide raises all ships!
The First Tee of Lake Erie looks forward to
supporting the Toledo Golf Show in the future
and seeing it continue to mold into a family
event with something for everyone!
