Jim Slotterbeck, like every
golfer, has wanted to get into
the golf business. He now
has that chance as the Club
Manager for Hidden Hills Golf Club in Woodville.Jim’s father was a local
dentist, who didn’t take up
the game until he was in
his 40’s, when his wife and
brother bought him his first
set of clubs. He became
hooked and introduced the
game to his son.
As a youngster, Jim played his
first round of golf at Hidden
Hills with his father at the age
of 10. He showed some ability
and played nearly every day
during the summer months.
He would ride his bike to the
course, play all day and trek
back home for supper. It was
an ideal childhood.
He lettered all four years
at Woodville High School
and earned a Varsity Letter
for playing on the Ashland
College golf team. The friends
he made playing golf in
college are some of his most
enduring relationships. He
stays in contact with most
of his old teammates and
they still enjoy teeing it up
to see who is the best on the
occasion.
His work schedule allowed
him to have daytimes free and
he coached the Woodville
High School golf team in 1995
and 1996. He loved being
around the game and helping
kids learn to compete.
When he learned Hidden
Hills owners, Kevin Fox and
E.J. Croll were looking for
someone to run the clubhouse,
he applied and got the job.
Jim told us,
“Golf has always been a
large part of my life. Hidden
Hills Golf Club is such
an important part of the
