Toledo has always had one
of the strongest junior and
high school golf programs
in the state. That was
evident once again this year
as several local golfers and
teams qualified for the Ohio
High School State Golf
Tournament.
The Division II Boys State
Tournament
was
held
October 14-15 at the Ohio
State University Scarlet
course, while the Girls
competition was held on the
Gray Course. The Division III
Boys tournament was held
at Northstar Golf Club in
Sunbury.
Ottawa Hills’ Boys Team
posted two rounds of 349-
344 to finish fourth in
Division II.
Toledo Central Catholic’s,
Will Sattler finished in a
12th by firing two rounds of
79-78, while TCC finished
tenth overall in the team
competition.
In theGirlsDivision II,Ottawa
Hills Girls Team member,
Caroline Dayton posted 75-
79 to finish seventh. Ottawa
Hills Girls Team finished 12
th
on the Gray Course.
A senior from Cardinal
Stritch, Steven Johnson
qualified for the state tourney
and finished 11
th
in Division
III at Northstar Golf Club.
St. Ursula Girls Golf Team
and St. Johns Jesuit Boys
Golf team, as well as,
Northview’s Ashley Knight
and Jack Kunkel, all earned
spots in the Division I
Ohio High School Golf
Tournament that was held
October 21-22.
Foul weather forced the
cancellation of the second
round of play the following
weekend in the Division I
Tournament and the final
scores were recorded from
Local High School Golf Teams
