Club in Toledo, David Graf
2011. He updated the old
Maumee Sports Mall near the
intersection of Reynolds and
Dussell Road. It featured a
fully stocked pro shop, grass
tees, a chipping and putting
area, plus covered hitting bays
for use in inclement weather.
The Golf PIT’s five-year lease
with property owner, Bob
Mix expires in October and a
new agreement could not be
negotiated by the two parties.
Graf announced the Golf PIT
will be moving to an alternate
location, McDivots Golf
Center, 6200 Angola Road,
Holland, OH 43258 effective
November 1st, 2016.
McDivots will provide the
same full service golf club
repair, Trackman golf fitting
and golf instruction, as they
did previously at the Golf Pit.
McDivot’s is conveniently
located on Angola Road
between Holland-Sylvania
and I-475. It has grass tees on
the range and a new training
room for lessons being built.
The staff at McDivots is trained
in the latest technology to
improve your game and fit
your unique swing with the
proper equipment.
Graf told us,
“We have been happy to serve
Toledo-area golfers at the old
location and will provide the
same great instruction and fitting
at the McDivots on Angola.”
Current conditions in golf
demand that retail locations
lower operating costs and
that’s what moving to the
new facility will accomplish
for Graf. Golfers are buying
more equipment online
and retail locations must
respond to market trends.
Furthermore, the proliferation
of indoor golf simulators has
decreased the need for an
outdoor driving range during
the winter months.
The final day at the current
location in Maumee will be
October 24, 2016, as they
will take a couple of days to
move their equipment and
inventory to the new store.
