Even though it is still cold and snowy in northwest Ohio and southeast

Michigan, our television screens are filled with scenes of palm trees gently

waving in the ocean breezes. People wearing flowered shirts, shorts and

sandals are watching golf’s best begin the 2017 PGATour season in Hawaii.

I love this time of year. The holiday season, complete with family and

friends, has just wrapped up and thoughts of a sunny trip to Florida begin

to fill my conscious waking hours. The PGA Show will be held in Orlando

at the end of January. It is always a treat to see old friends and check out

the latest golf gadgets and technology.

Before you know it, in February, theToledo Golf Showwill alert northerners

that the beginning of golf season is not that far away. Plus, baseball’s best

report to spring training in Florida and Arizona. Can the Indians repeat as

American League Champs and get to another World Series?

Days gradually grow longer and the hope that accompanies the new golf

and baseball seasons puts a spring in one’s step.
