of the Toledo Golf Hall of
Fame and still meets with
area caddies and their parents
to answer questions about
the Evans Scholars program,
to assure all applications are
received in a timely manner.
For the past nine years, John
and his wife Sue annually give
the Kretzchmar Award to an
area Evans Scholar student that:
-has excelled in the classroom
-exhibited leadership in the
Evans Scholar House
-demonstrated outstanding
community involvement
This year’s Kretzchmar Award
was given to Ohio State
University nursing student,
Carly Truckor from Swanton.
Ms. Truckor maintains a 3.93
GPA at OSU and achieved
a perfect 4.0 for the spring
2016 term.
Shealsohelped lead theOSU
Evans Scholar House to tie
Northwestern University for
the best total accumulative
average, 3.54 for all of the
20 Evans Scholar Houses in
the nation.
Carly is just one example of
the success that Evans Scholar
students achieve. As a group
Evans Scholars maintain an
accumulative average over
3.0 and 96% of all Evans
Scholars graduate on time.
Becoming a caddie is a
wonderful learning and life
experience, earning a full-
ride college scholarship is
just an added benefit.
