New Staff Injects New Life
Wanting to inject newlife into thehistoriccourse,
Fuhrman hired a newHead Professional. Johnny
Widmer was born and raised in the Cayman
Islands and still calls them home. He was a
top-ranked junior golfer and traveled to Florida
to attend David Leadbetter’s IMG Golf School
for his high school years. Highly recruited,
he attended the University of Colorado and
was a member of the golf team throughout his
collegiate years.
On a trip home to the islands from college,
he happened to meet a young lady from the
Toledo area and as these things tend to happen,
eventually they were wed. Not wanting to
leave her family and still a student herself at the
University of Toledo, the Widmers’ decided to
reside in Toledo.
Widmer brings a fresh new outlook to Tamaron
and as a stand-out collegiate player, brings the
skill set to keep improving the golfing experience
at the course.
The second major change at Tamaron Country
Club this season was the hiring of a new
superintendent, Jason Cline. Cline graduated
from Ohio State in 2011 with a degree in turf
management. He furthered his education at
Belmont Country Club for five years and brings
that knowledge, as well as, his experience to
Tamaron.
CAPTIONS
He has been extremely busy improving the
quality of the green complexes. Since April, he
has aerified and top dressed greens, as well as,
reseeded and filled in thin areas.
