Ohio was awarded the 2016
Nicklaus Youth Spirit Award.
Kyle was diagnosed with two
very serious heart diseas-
es – Wolff-Parkinson-White
Syndrome and Hypertrophic
Cardiomyopathy. He under-
went a successful surgery to
implant a cardioverter-de-
fibrillator.
Due to this surgery, Kyle is
no longer able to participate
in contact sports or any
physically strenuous activities,
but he can play golf.
He does not bemoan the fact
that his heart condition limits
his activities,
“I have used this major event
in my life as motivation to
accomplish the goals I have
set forth. I wasn’t going to let
this event get in the way of
my dreams!”
“Each and every day, I push
myself to become 1% better
than the day before, and I have
used this notion to become
the best golfer and person
that I can be. My strong work
ethic and my drive to be the
best I could possibly be, has
led me to become the person
I am today on and off the golf
course.”
Kyle is on the varsity golf
team for his high school and
enjoys boating, swimming,
tubing, and hunting.
The
