on your scramble team,
birdies are not that difficult
to come by. We were slightly
disappointed with our first
hole, as all of our birdie
efforts lipped out. The good
news was, however, that the
booze was safe for the time
being.
We birdied the second hole
with ease and the challenge
began. Shot one was
consumed and we were off!
I will save you the play by
play, but after the first seven
holes our team was six-
under-par and my face was
beginning to go numb. Six
shots of liquor within a little
over one hour was beginning
to take a toll on my team, as
well as myself.
What seemed like a good
idea to add a little spice to
our scramble, turned out to
be a rather poor decision
and more than any of us
bargained for.
Only one-third of our round
was complete and we were
totally wrecked!
We finished the scramble
at six-under-par, we think.
We weren’t quite sure of the
actual outcome. We were
somewhat afraid to score
more birdies, because it was
nearly impossible to decide
which one of the three balls,
staring back at us, to hit on
every stroke.
It should be a scramble to
hit the ball into the hole……
not to scramble to walk a
straight line.
Take a tip from the “Old Pro,”
everything in moderation my
friend. Hit’em straight!
